Bosch and Primavera Celebrate 10 Years Empowering Thai Youth

A Decade of Transformation: Bosch Thailand and Its Partnerships for Youth Empowerment

As the world celebrates the 35th anniversary of Primavera, a charitable foundation initiated by Bosch associates, the company in Thailand marks a decade of meaningful collaboration with various organizations. This partnership has focused on transforming the lives of underprivileged youth through vocational education and skill development. Working closely with the Hand to Hand Foundation (H2H) and the Skills for Life Foundation (S4L), Bosch Thailand has played a pivotal role in equipping young people with the tools they need to build sustainable and independent lives.

Since 2015, Primavera and Bosch Thailand have worked together to support children and youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. Their efforts go beyond traditional education, focusing on practical skills that prepare these individuals for successful careers. This initiative is not just about providing resources but also about fostering long-term growth and self-reliance.

The Hand to Hand Foundation takes a holistic approach, nurturing children from early childhood through university, with a strong emphasis on education and community welfare. Meanwhile, the Skills for Life Foundation targets hill tribe youth, offering access to vocational training and higher education. While their strategies differ, both foundations share a common mission: to break the cycle of poverty by empowering youth with the knowledge and skills necessary for a better future.

The partnership between Bosch Thailand and these foundations prioritizes quality over quantity, ensuring that every student receives personalized attention and support. To date, H2H has supported approximately 230 students, while S4L has helped over 100 young people complete vocational or university degrees. Many of these graduates continue to engage with the foundations, often mentoring younger peers—a clear indication of the program's lasting impact.

Bosch associates are actively involved in this initiative, contributing their time, expertise, and knowledge as volunteers. Their participation ensures that financial support translates into real, measurable progress for the youth they aim to help.

One notable project that highlights the power of collaboration is the STEM toy initiative. This creative pay-it-forward project brought together H2H and S4L with the support of Bosch Thailand. The company conducted a 'Train-the-Trainer' workshop and provided essential tools, while students from S4L, guided by Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Fine Arts, designed and crafted educational soft toys. These toys were then donated to children at H2H, who later raised funds to support continued production, showcasing how teamwork can amplify community impact.

Vijay Ratnaparkhe, Regional President of Bosch ASEAN, emphasized the importance of community empowerment in the company’s engagement across ASEAN. He stated, "Our collaboration with Primavera, H2H, and S4L demonstrates how business, civil society, and individuals can create lasting social value."

Joseph Hong, Managing Director of Bosch Thailand, added, "At Bosch, we believe sustainable change stems from long-term partnerships. The synergy between H2H and S4L reflects the transformative power of education and skill-building. We are proud to grow with them on this journey."

The most compelling evidence of the program's success lies in the stories of those it has transformed. Thanaporn Kettawee, a 17-year-old from H2H, shared, "This foundation gave me the chance to dream bigger. My grandmother brought me here when I was seven. Now I'm halfway through vocational school and love baking! I dream of owning my own bakery. Thanks to the support I've received, I believe I can create a better future for myself and my family."

Worrada Preecha Udomkarn, 22, from S4L, added, "Learning vocational skills gave me independence and the confidence to contribute to my community. I hope to inspire others to follow this path."

As Primavera celebrates its 35 years of global impact, its partnership with Bosch Thailand, H2H, and S4L stands as a shining example of values-driven corporate citizenship. Through empathy, skill development, and shared purpose, this initiative empowers young people to rise beyond their circumstances and build brighter futures.
