Homa Bay: Mixed reactions as teachers perform 'inappropriate dance' at Agoro Sare High School
  • Teachers from Agoro Sare High School are the talk of the town after they danced to Odongo Swag's song, Lindah, as seen in a trending video
  • The school went wild as the teachers unleashed some of the most modern and suave moves while dancing close to each other
  • The actions unnerved some parents who opined that the teachers should have danced better because of the students' presence

Homa Bay, Kenya: Agoro Sare High School recently held its cultural day, and dances by youthful teachers have set tongues wagging.

Music by Odongo Swag saw about six teachers jump on the dance floor, which was a raised podium, with the boys wildly cheering.

When a couple of teachers took it a notch higher, some of the students aped them, with many moving near the podium where the action was, to dance themselves lame.

"Why did we never have such a cultural day during our time? Agoro Dare (Yenga) Cultural Day 2025. Ajawa is hitting hard," a Kenyan man identified as Nicky Ombjia noted.

Why did some Kenyans oppose the Agoro Sare dance?

While some viewers did not see a problem with the dances, others were disgusted by how the teachers were dancing, claiming that there were some sexual innuendos driven by the dances.

Doreen Kusesi gave her experience of when she was caught up in such a dance:

"I remembered I was to dance with the headteacher in a certain school...the head started warming up, pressing up and I wondered why? The kids were cheering teacher Doreen...you can do it, go go go, eheheeee, I remembered my strict man, eheee. I faked stomach ache end of the story.
"First of all when you are young in an institution...this heavy male dudes enjoy fun days with you. I have to fake...if I see it may lack etiquette," she said.

Why were some Kenyans unhappy with Agoro Sare teachers?

A man who identified himself as Mapua Ya Punda wondered why schools like to have activities where people dance.

What is the obsession of Kenyans with dancing? Can't they do some other activities other than such dances...and in school in front of learners?"

On his part, Sam Okumu did not see anything wrong with the dance and wondered if there was anything wrong or unrest due to the dance.

"Was the school burnt down? Did students march to the education offices? Go investigate schools that had unrest and you'll realise they have very "sober" teachers but 😜."

How did other Kenyans react to the video?

Igoji High teachers don uniforms, dance at event

In another story, the Igoji Girls High School principal was the talk of the town after donning a school uniform and dancing for her students at school.

The school had organised a huge event, and a fashion show was a part of it. The teachers also followed in the footsteps of their boss and wore the school uniforms.

As soon as their students saw them, they went wild with cheers, and the teachers did not disappoint them.
