Three students from Yobe State have earned international acclaim following their stellar performance at the 2025 TeenEagle Global English Championship held in London, United Kingdom.
The trio - Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu (17), Rukayya Muhammad Fema (15), and Hadiza Kashim Kalli - represented Nigeria and emerged among the top contenders, outperforming over 20,000 participants from 69 countries.
Their achievements have drawn praise from Yobe philanthropist Kashim Musa Tumsah, who described their success as a source of pride for both the state and the nation.
In recognition of their accomplishments, Tumsah announced a personal reward of ₦500,000 and a brand-new laptop for each student to support their academic journey.
Yobe philanthropist rewards academic excellence
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Tumsah commended the students for their discipline, creativity, and academic brilliance. He wrote:
“We proudly celebrate the outstanding achievement of three brilliant young students from Yobe State, Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Hadiza Kashim Kalli, who have brought honour to Nigeria at the TeenEagle Global English Championship held in London.
“Emerging victorious among over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, these students have not only demonstrated academic excellence and discipline but have also highlighted the immense potential of Nigerian youth, particularly from the North-East region.”
Tumsah also credited the success to the educational reforms and investments made under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni, noting that the state’s commitment to creating an enabling learning environment was yielding “truly exceptional results.”
Global recognition for Yobe’s young champions
Each of the students received individual accolades at the championship. Rukayya Muhammad Fema was declared Overall Best in Debate, while Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu clinched the title of Overall Best in English Language Skills. Hadiza Kashim Kalli was honoured with the Outstanding Talent Award, recognised for her unique presence and exceptional creativity among her global peers.
Tumsah added:

Representing Nigeria through the Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC), Nafisa emerged victorious among more than 20,000 participants from 69 countries.
